Forum for Lakeport City Council candidates to be held Oct. 4

LAKEPORT, Calif. – A forum for candidates in this November’s Lakeport City Council race will be held on Thursday, Oct. 4.

The forum, cosponsored by the Lake County Chamber of Commerce and Lake County News, will be held in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the forum beginning at 6:30 p.m. and running until no later than 8 p.m.

Six candidates will be on the Nov. 6 ballot, vying for three seats.

They include incumbents Suzanne Lyons and Bob Rumfelt, and challengers Marc Spillman, Kenneth “Kenny” Parlet, Mary Nolan and Martin Scheel.

Lakeport residents, and those with business and other interests in the city of Lakeport are invited to come and hear from the field of candidates.

Lake County News Editor and Publisher Elizabeth Larson will moderate the event, which will be videotaped for rebroadcast.

Audience members will be able to submit questions for the group at the forum.
