LAKEPORT, Calif. – This week the Board of Supervisors will discuss sewer use ordinance updates and appointments to special district boards, and offer proclamations and commendations.
The board will meet beginning at 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 4, in the board chambers on the first floor of the Lake County Courthouse, 255 N. Forbes St., Lakeport. TV8 will broadcast the meeting live, with the video available online at http://www.co.lake.ca.us/Government/Boards/Board_of_Supervisors/calendar.htm .
At 9:40 a.m., the supervisors – sitting as the Lake County Sanitation District Board of Directors – will hold a public hearing to consider an ordinance amending Sections 706A and 706B of the sewer use ordinance pertaining regarding sewer capacity expansion fees.
The report to the board from Special Districts Administrator Mark Dellinger said that in April he and his staff made a presentation to the board and recommended establishing conditions in which there could be reduced new construction apartment charges.
Those cases would include situations where square footage does not exceed 800 square feet, there are low flow plumbing fixtures, a secondary source of water for landscaping and a dedicated laundry facility for tenant use only.
Dellinger said the reduced connections fees would be for the Northwest and Southeast Regional Wastewater Facilities.
In other business, in an untimed item, the board will consider adopting a resolution appointing directors of certain special district boards in lieu of holding a general district election on Nov. 4.
In timed items, at 9:10 a.m. the board will present proclamations designating the month of November 2014 as In-Home Support Services Caregiver Recognition Month and as National Hospice and Palliative Care Month, and at 9:15 a.m. the board will honor sheriff's Sgt. Andy Davidson and Deputy Jake Steely for life saving efforts in the course of duty.
