LAKEPORT, Calif. – This week the Lakeport City Council will make appointments to three city commissions and committees, and consider the Lakeport Police chief's request to hire a full-time and part-time position.
The council will meet beginning at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 2, in the council chambers at Lakeport City Hall, 225 Park St.
City Clerk Janel Chapman will take to the council the appointments to the Lakeport Economic Development Committee and Parks and Recreation Commission, with those positions effective Jan. 1, 2015, and continuing through Dec. 31, 2016; and the Lakeport Planning Commission, with those seat appointments to be effective from Jan. 1, 2015, through Dec. 31, 2018.
Also on Tuesday, Police Chief Brad Rasmussen will ask the council to consider eliminating the 960-hour positions of special investigator and reserve officer and hire a full-time police officer and a part-time property and evidence officer.
A public hearing on the Community Development Block Grant Program income reuse agreement that originally had been scheduled for the council to hear on Tuesday will be continued to the regular meeting on Dec. 16.
On the meeting's consent agenda – items considered noncontroversial and usually accepted as a slate on one vote – are ordinances; warrant registers from Nov. 20; and meeting minutes from Nov. 18.
