CLEARLAKE, Calif. – Police have taken a Clearlake man into custody in connection with a rape that allegedly occurred on Monday.
Eric Jason Floyd, 41, was arrested at the Ridgelake Apartments, located in the 15000 block of Austin Drive, according to Clearlake Police Sgt. Martin Snyder.
Snyder said police officers responded to the apartment complex at approximately 9:39 p.m. Monday for a welfare check on a female.
He said officers found the adult female subject in the apartment complex’s parking lot.
The woman reported that she was forcibly raped numerous times throughout the day by an adult male who also was located at the apartments, Snyder said.
The suspect, Floyd, was detained at the scene without incident, according to Snyder.
Floyd was arrested on felony charges of rape, sodomy and oral copulation, and a misdemeanor charge of being under the influence of a controlled substance, as well as a felony probation violation, Snyder said.
Jail records showed Floyd is on a no-bail hold due to the probation violation.
The investigation was turned over to Clearlake Police’s investigations unit and a detective responded to assist, Snyder said.
