LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lakeport Police Department on Saturday issued a traffic advisory for downtown holiday events.
The Lakeport Main Street Association is hosting its Very Merry Main Street event in Museum Park from 2 to 5 p.m.
In conjunction with the event, Third Street between N. Forbes Street and N. Main Street will be closed from approximately noon until 8 p.m., police said.
The Lake County Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual holiday lighted parade on Main Street between Fifth and First Streets starting at 6 p.m.
In preparation for the parade, Fifth Street from Main Street to the boat launch will be closed starting at 4 p.m.
The parking lot on the north side of Fifth Street at the lake is currently closed to keep it available for staging vehicles participating in the parade.
The Main Street parade route will be closed to both through and cross traffic starting at approximately 5:30 p.m. and Lakeport Police will be on site conducting traffic controls.
The tree lighting in Museum Park will take place following the parade at approximately 7 p.m.
Motorists are asked to drive safely when traveling in the area or plan to use alternate routes if needed.
