LAKEPORT, Calif. – The annual Lake County Fair is set to open on Thursday, Sept. 3, and the Lakeport Police Department would like to remind motorists and pedestrians to be extra cautious due to the amount of traffic congestion in the area of the fairgrounds.

For persons who require disabled parking, the main entrance to the fairgrounds has eight designated spaces available that are clearly marked with appropriate signage.

In addition, the main entrance will have a designated loading and unloading zone for disabled persons wishing to attend the event.

The loading zone is located on the east side of the main entrance off of Martin Street and will be clearly marked.

Eight additional disabled parking spaces have been designated on C Street between Forbes Street and the C Street gate.

Motorists wishing to use the disabled parking spaces are required to have disabled placards visible from inside the vehicle.

Law enforcement representatives from Lakeport Police Department, Lake County Sheriff’s Office, Clearlake Police Department, Lake County Probation Department, California Highway Patrol and the Lake County District Attorney’s Office will be at the event providing law enforcement services.

The law enforcement command post will be located near the C Street entrance.
