MIDDLETOWN, Calif. – David Neft’s appearances at the Middletown Luncheon Club are always favorites.
This year’s return performance is slated for Wednesday, Aug. 21.
The gig starts at noon, at the Middletown Community United Methodist Church social hall.
The Cobb Mt. Lions will be preparing and serving the lunch this month, always a good and tasty deal for $5. The serving club takes home the revenue and a donation from MLC.
Neft says this will be an all-request show. It will no doubt, as usual, be punctuated by an entertaining supply of jokes and jests as endless as his repertoire of tunes.
Soon after Neft started classical piano training at age 7, he recognized that he preferred jazz and the pop songs of the Hit Parade. He still handles the classics well, but his audiences clamor for the pop, to his delight.
Anchored by the Middletown area real estate business started by his parents, Neft has kept the display of his talents local. Nonetheless, he has opened for a number of famous name musicians when they appeared at Konocti Harbor and other nearby venues.
He continually plays for weddings and parties and other special occasions, and favors Middletown Luncheon Club regulars about once a year.
Middletown Methodist Church is located on Armstrong Street, one block east of Calistoga Street.
