Farm Bureau 2013-14 Blue Jacket Bonanza Program applications available

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee is proud to announce applications are available for the 2013-14 Blue Jacket Bonanza Program.

In May, the Lake County Farm Bureau rolled out the first Blue Jacket Bonanza Program.

Since then, with feedback from Future Farmers of America advisors and the group's scholarship committee, the Farm Bureau has changed the program period to better suit the needs of FFA members and to allow them a different time frame to prepare their applications.

Application packets must be completed and postmarked by Oct. 31.

The Blue Jacket Bonanza Program was organized to provide FFA students the opportunity to earn their own FFA blue jacket.

The jackets are awarded based upon need, community service activities, leadership skills and a commitment to the FFA program.

To be granted a jacket, the students are required to complete an application process which entails answering questions about what the blue jacket means to them, their goals for FFA, how they plan on using their blue jacket, community service activities, and a written recommendation from a teacher, counselor or administrator.

For more information, visit www.lakecofb.com and click on the “scholarship” tab.

After the postmark deadline date of Oct. 31, the Lake County Farm Bureau Scholarship Committee will review all eligible applications and determine the recipients.

Application packets must be mailed to the Lake County Farm Bureau, 65 Soda Bay Road, Lakeport, CA 95453.
