LAKEPORT, Calif. – Due to public safety concerns and rising flood conditions, the city of Lakeport officially closed Library Park on Thursday afternoon.
The city reported that the closure is a result of flood waters cresting over the seawall, causing damage and entering the parklands, which has resulted in a hazardous situation.
Flooding has caused complete saturation of the playground and lawn areas, the city said.
The city advised people to stay out of the park for their own safety and to prevent damage to the park.
All public boat ramps in the city also remain closed, officials said.
In addition to the park and dock closures, the city said several city streets are flooded and closed to all but neighborhood residents.
Those roads include Esplanade, E and K streets; and Konocti, Lupoyoma, Helena, Lily Cove and Oak Knoll avenues, the city reported.
