LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The county's undersheriff has resigned in order to move on to a job in Yolo County.
Lake County officials confirmed that Patrick Turturici tendered his resignation earlier this week, with his last day on job set to be at the end of next week. He is taking a job overseeing the Yolo County Juvenile Hall.
Turturici did not return a message left by Lake County News on Friday.
Yolo County Chief Probation Officer Brent Cardall, whose agency oversees the Yolo County Juvenile Hall, was out of the office this week and could not be reached for comment.
Turturici previously served as undersheriff of San Benito County from 2005 to 2010, resigning after losing the 2010 San Benito County Sheriff's race.
Sheriff Frank Rivero hired Turturici as Lake County's undersheriff in September 2011.
During his tenure in Lake County, one of Turturici's main responsibilities has been overseeing the Lake County Jail.
Capt. Chris Macedo, a longtime sheriff's staffer, is reportedly being considered by Rivero – who is up for reelection in June – to replace Turturici.
