100+ Women Strong in Lake County to hold final meeting of 2017

CLEARLAKE, Calif. – On Thursday, Nov. 9, 100+ Women Strong in Lake County will come together to raise funds towards local nonprofit organizations.

The fourth and final meeting of 2017 will be held at the Clearlake Community Center at 3245 Bowers Ave. in Clearlake (behind Safeway on Olympic Drive).

Doors open at 6 p.m., with the meeting from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Appetizers will be served; wine and drinks will be available for purchase.

The mission of 100+ Women Strong in Lake County is the continued financial support of Lake County nonprofit organizations.

By rallying 100+ women to come together in support of local charities and through collective fundraising efforts, we keep it local and have an impact that we can see in our community.

The first meeting was held Feb. 9 at Rancho de la Fuente. One hundred and 50 women attended in pouring down rain to contribute more than $15,000 to Operation Tango Mike. This organization went from sending 60 care packages a month to more than 100 care packages a month being shipped to our local community members who are serving in other countries away from home.

The next meeting was held May 11 at Twin Pine Casino. Fourteen more women, joined making the donation $16,400 to Totes 4 Teens to assist with obtaining a new storage facility, purchasing new inventory and continuing their mission of providing a duffel bag with essentials to kids who have nothing.

The third meeting of the year was held at Moore Family Winery on Cobb. The appropriate theme of “Wonder Women” was a huge success raising $17,500 towards the Lake County Realtor Association’s Scholarship Program.

The group would like to especially thank the efforts and contributions towards its Nov. 9 meeting: Alexander Bakery, Aloha Bay, Bank of the West, Cache Creek Winery, Cactus Grill, City of Clearlake, Clear Lake Campground, Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce, Clearlake Rotary, Foods Etc., Fults Family Vineyards, Highland Senior Center, Kevin Ness Jewelers, Lake County Arts Council, Lakeshore Lions and Lioness, Lower Lake High School, Pure Romance, Soroptomist International of Clearlake, Uber and Lyft in Lake County, Walmart, and many community members.

This support of the mission allows them to give 100-percent of donations directly to the selected charity on the night they are selected.
