LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Clear Lake Trowel and Trellis Garden Club assembled 250 bags of Valentine cards and candy for Meals on Wheels clients.

Club member Claire Grieve has coordinated this project for 12 years. It is a fun and rewarding project that the club's members enjoy.

It always feels good to do something nice for others so they can have a little something special with their Valentine's Day meal.

The California Garden Clubs Inc. encourages local clubs to become involved in activities or service projects designed to help those in the community with challenges.

The garden club will have its regular meeting at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 19, at the Scotts Valley Women’s Club House at 2298 Hendricks Road, Lakeport.

Desserts, coffee and tea will be provided.

The featured speaker will be Master Gardener Gabriele O'Neill, University of California Cooperative coordinator, Lake County Extension. The theme is “Collecting and Storing Seeds.”
