LAKEPORT, Calif. – Second Sunday Breakfast at the Lakeport Senior Center has been a community building event lasting more than two decades.

The next breakfast will be held from 8:30 a.m. to noon Sunday, July 14.

The proceeds from the breakfast help supplement the funding shortfall of $250,000 the senior center needs to raise to continue the 500 meals per day it produces.

With Chef Jon Hork leading the breakfast experience the specials offered this Sunday in July are a quiche that has bacon, artichoke and spinach baked with Swiss cheese and fresh cream.

Irish Benedict is the other option with corned beef hash on a toasted English muffin with poached eggs and a bacon hollandaise.

For those not interested in the specials, there are the standard eggs or omelet which have been part of the menu from the beginning.

Adults are $9 and children under 12 only $5.

The center is located at 527 Konocti Ave in Lakeport.
