LOWER LAKE, Calif. – The Lake County Democratic Party will host Carla Ritz at the Programs & Recruitment Committee meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 6 p.m. in Lower Lake.

Carla Ritz has served as the executive director for First 5 Lake County since 2017.

She has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Arizona and has spent the bulk of her career in nonprofit administration.

At First 5, she has orchestrated the development of a five-year strategic plan, facilitated the launch of the Smart Start Collective, brought the Brain Architecture Game and the Stewards of Children trainings to the county, and spearheaded the State of Our Children effort.

Carla, her husband Jason, and their son Timothy lived in Lake County from 2000 to 2006 and returned to the area in 2016.

First 5 Lake County exists to build the early childhood systems and supports needed to ensure Lake County's youngest children are safe, healthy and ready to succeed in school and life.

It was founded in 1998 as the conduit for the use of Proposition 10 revenue and has allocated those funds for the good of children (prenatally through age five) and their families within the County for the past 20 years.

The First 5 Lake Commission consists of nine members who make funding decisions based upon their strategic plan which is reviewed annually.

Attend this meeting for an opportunity to learn and engage. Ritz will be providing information on how to help advance the interests of Lake County families.

The Programs Committee of the Lake County Democratic Party meets the second Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m. in the Social Hall of the United Methodist Church, 16255 2nd St., Lower Lake.

All meetings are open to the public.

Associate membership in the Lake County Democratic Central Committee is open to registered Democrats and dues are $25/annually.
