LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Library now offers appointment-only contactless pick-ups of books and other materials at all four branches.

To arrange an appointment and to select your items, call your local branch library.

The books must be on the shelf at your branch and there is a limit of five items per person. You can learn more at the library website: http://library.lakecountyca.gov .

Lakeport Library’s phone number is 707-263-8817. The phone number for Redbud Library in Clearlake is 707-994-5115. Middletown Library’s phone number is 707-987-3674. Upper Lake Library’s number is 707-275-2049.

People can also request pre-packaged “grab-and-go” craft kits for kids to enjoy at home.

Books and other items can now be returned to the bookdrops at the branch libraries. Because the libraries have been closed and remain closed, overdue fines are being waived for items that were checked out before the COVID19 crisis started.

“We are so happy to be able to expand our digital services and to also allow access to our collections through contactless pickup. For now, our libraries will remain closed for in person services as we wait for the guidelines and permission to re-open our doors safely,” said County Librarian Christopher Veach.

With a library card, patrons can access the library’s array of digital services without the need to visit a local branch. If you need a library card, you can create an online card with the application form on the library website.

If you have a question about an existing library account, call 707-263-8817 and leave a message. Library staff will be available by phone during normal operating hours to assist with the digital resources.

The Lake County Library continues to offer services during the COVID19 stay at home. If you want to keep up with library news, sign up for free weekly email updates on the library’s homepage.
