CLEARLAKE OAKS, Calif. – Frank Elmer Kosar Jr., 61, passed suddenly at his home in Clearlake Oaks on March 9, 2017, from an aortic aneurysm.

Frank was born in Hinsdale, Indiana, on Dec. 21, 1955, to Frank Kosar Sr., and Norma Tree Kosar.

Frank moved to Lake County, Calif., in 1988 and lived in Hidden Valley Lake.

Frank worked for Hidden Valley Lake Association as a security guard in 1991, where he met Diana.

They soon become the closest and most trusted of friends, and quickly became devoted to one another. They married in 1998.

Frank then worked for Homestake Mining Co, in Lower Lake until it closed in 2002, Frank went to work for Barrick Gold Mine in Nevada until Homestake called him back to assist in the closing of the mine.

Frank then went to work for Calpine as a steam field operator for over 12 years. He was very excited about his job at Calpine, and he would often comment, “It’s like I died and went to job heaven.”

Frank loved Mother Nature and enjoyed being outdoors. Frank especially enjoyed the forest and redwoods on the coast. He and Diana would go as often as possible.

Frank also enjoyed his family, including watching his grandboys in their many sports activities and assisting them in their many interests.

Frank really enjoyed watching his favorite college games, Notre Dame was his favorite. He also enjoyed watching other teams and especially the Bears!

Frank was a very loving and giving man. He always saw good in everyone and would do what he could to help anyone in any situation. Frank is most assuredly loved and missed by many.
