LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A spectacular overnight lightning and thunderstorm lit up the skies and rumbled over Lake County.

Residents from around Lake County reported early Monday morning that they saw lightning and heard thunder, which according to weather forecasts was spreading around the North Coast region.

The Lake County News video, shown above, captures a total of about 20 minutes of the storm – filmed between about 1:45 a.m. and 2:15 a.m. at Lucerne Harbor Park – which is condensed down to just over three minutes.

There were early morning reports of lightning strikes but it wasn't immediately clear if any of them started fires locally.

Radio reports indicated there may have been lightning-caused fires in neighboring counties, with firefighters dispatched to check out fire reports.

Nothing better than sitting in your hot tub, in the rain, on the deck, drinking coffee, watching the light show.
