Shooting reported in Clearlake Saturday night

UPDATE: According to a case update issued by the Clearlake Police Department on Monday, July 29, the injured man – 33-year-old James Oscar of Clearlake – was determined not to have been shot but instead was injured during a fight in which he was determined to be the aggressor. CLEARLAKE, Calif. – One person was transported to an out-of-county hospital after reportedly being shot on Saturday night.

At around 11 p.m. Lake County Fire Protection District firefighters were dispatched to the 3000 block of Sixth Street in Clearlake on the report of an assault victim.

Firefighters arriving at the scene reported finding a gunshot wound victim, according to radio reports.

An air ambulance was requested to land at Ray's Food Place on Dam Road, based on scanner reports, but then was diverted to land instead at Austin Park, closer to where the male shooting victim was located.

At about 11:40 p.m. REACH 6 lifted off for UC Davis Medical Center, according to reports from the scene.

I say "effing gang banger wanna be punks!" Why don't ya just whoop some ass? Do you have to shoot someone? If a punk shot my kid, there'd be a serious price to pay. smilies/angry.gif

and if the victim had a concealed weapon permit he could have returned fire, sort of like the OK corral.
