CLEARLAKE – The Clearlake City Council's agenda for the Thursday night meeting includes discussion of a request to disincorporate the city.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at Clearlake City Hall.

During the last few months a citizens' effort has been under way to collect signatures to disincorporate Clearlake and put the area now governed by the city back under county control.

Clearlake was incorporated in 1980.

Also on the agenda, the council will discuss having the city's Code Enforcement Program target specific areas of the city for cleanup and consider awarding a bid to demolish the buildings at Highlands Park.

The council also will take up the issue of establishing a board of appeals under the California Building Code.

Two proclamations will be presented during the meeting: one to Catherine Rose designating September as National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month in Lake County; and a second to Ed Stockman supporting the efforts of the Knights of Columbus in sponsoring the Festival of Life.

Clearlake City Hall is located at 14050 Olympic Drive.
