E-mail Print PDF

LAKEPORT, Calif. – In celebration of the Olympics, featured today is an athletic young cat needing a home.

This 4-month-old female domestic long hair mix kitten is waiting for a new at Lake County Animal Care and Control.

The green-eyed girl – who is not yet spayed – was enjoying some time playing with her ball when she was caught on video. Her ball handling skills are impressive – watch how she picks the ball up with one paw.

If you’re looking for an energetic and athletic new friend, visit her in cat room kennel No. 53, ID No. 33249.

To fill out an adoption application online visit http://www.co.lake.ca.us/Government/Directory/Animal_Care_And_Control/Adopt/Dog___Cat_Adoption_Application.htm .

TOO LATE...
written by ca215, August 07, 2012
for this kitten to be adopted from LCACC.

According to a phone answer person at LCACC the kitten has been there since June and "nobody has been interested in adopting her."

I flat don't believe that. Pretty, playful, what's not to like? If the kitten has been at LCACC since June and is now 4 months old as is stated in the article about her, guesstimated math shows that she would have been in a cage since she was 4 weeks old.

The kitten adoption fee was cited to me as $96 for females and there is a $10 reduction if the buyer is senior aged/ disabled.

But don't grab for your car keys just yet. Since "nobody was interested in her" she is being sent TODAY to someplace in Petaluma. The phone answer person at LCACC said a shelter exists in Petaluma but I couldn't get the name or location of the place.

Also according to what I heard in a very short conversation with LCACC, this 4 month old has been featured online for a long time. Odd. I never saw her before and I check out the "Adoption Minute" articles every time one appears.
