LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Konocti Vista Casino recently presented two local middle schools, Mt. Vista in Kelseyville and Terrace School in Lakeport, each with a $1,000 check.
The funds are from Konocti Vista Casino’s annual Smokin’ on the Water Barbecue.
This event occurs the last Saturday in August and the People’s Choice portion of the contest is split 50/50 with the two middle schools sharing the pot with the winning barbecue team.
These funds go directly to the math and science programs at both schools to help classroom resources and increase interest in math and science.
The annual barbecue will continue this summer at Konocti Vista on Aug. 24, 2013, with the goal to fund these worthy class projects.
