COBB, Calif. – Authorities are searching the Cobb area for a girl who has been missing since Thursday morning.

Jenica Frederick, 12, was last seen at around 7 a.m. Thursday in the area of 9600 block of St. Helena Drive in Cobb, according to a flier being circulated in the community.

She reportedly did not show up for school at Cobb Mountain Elementary, and there were reports of her being seen walking down Highway 175 toward Kelseyville mid-morning on Thursday.

Sheriff’s officials did not return Lake County News’ messages seeking comment about the case.

The Pine Summit Pool Facebook page reported that the facility was being used as a base camp for the search effort.

The girl is described as 4 feet, 9 inches tall, 116 pounds, with short brown hair and hazel eyes.

She was last seen wearing dark jeans, a green plaid shirt, a pink backpack and a lot of colored bracelets.

Anyone with information is asked to call the sheriff’s dispatch number at 707-263-2690.

Agree with Squeclh - this county has become a joke since Rivero came in. Who the heck voted for that bearded A-hole anyway? Let's all hope this child is not another casualty in our county and bring her home.

Are you friggin kidding me? Every minute that goes by, the search effort is hampered by the good ole SHERIFF who either wont cooperate with the LCN (the fastest way to get information to the public), or isn't cooperating because it makes him feel better to withhold info.
I fail to understand why. Has K-Corps been activated, is the girl entered into M.U.P.S.? Was it a parental abduction or is there a sexual predator on the loose on Cobb Mtn?
I am steaming mad that there is no public information from OUR SHERIFF to help locate this child.

I pray that she is okay at a friends house or something, but if she is found harmed, I will forever hold the Sheriff responsible.

Recall the loser now!!!!!!!!!!!! This has to end.

must be beside themselves with worry. I'm thinking positive that they'll find her safe and sound.
