LAKEPORT, Calif. – Firefighters responded to a residential structure fire near Lakeport Wednesday night, with their quick action saving the majority of the home.
The fire at 6245 Highland Springs Road was reported shortly after 10 p.m., according to radio reports. Firefighters from Lakeport and Kelseyville Fire responded.
Five people who were living in the home were able to get out safely, although one woman reported having trouble breathing, reports from the scene indicated.
Firefighters at the scene reported that the fire was knocked down quickly and contained to the master bedroom and its contents just before 11 p.m.
Scanner reports indicated fire personnel were on scene for another hour for mop up and overhaul.
Red Cross was requested to provide accommodation for the home's five residents, according to reports from the scene.
