LAKEPORT, Calif. – A free medical and dental clinic for Lake County community members will take place Saturday, Aug. 23, and Sunday, Aug. 24.

The two-day clinic will be held from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lakeport Community Church, 1111 Park Way.

Medical services offered will include blood sugar checks for diabetes (fast for at least eight hours prior); illness diagnosis and minor treatments; blood pressure screening; health promotion and education.

Dental services offered will include fillings, extractions, cleanings and root canals.

The clinic is not for emergency care, such as chest pain, bleeding, premature labor or trauma. For emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

Adventist Medical Evangelism Network, or AMEN, is hosting the clinic. AMEN is a nonprofit network of physicians and dentists dedicated to providing free dental and medical care to those who are uninsured or underinsured. The clinic s made possible by volunteers and donations.

All services are free of charge and no appointments are necessary.
