LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – This week, the two candidates seeking to become Lake County's next assessor-recorder sat down for an in-studio debate.
Richard Ford and Sorhna Li Jordan participated in the debate at the Konocti Broadcasting studios in Lakeport on Tuesday.
They are running to succeed Assessor-Recorder Doug Wacker, who is retiring.
The hourlong event was moderated by Lake County News Editor and Publisher Elizabeth Larson.
Ford and Jordan answered questions on a number of topics, including their priorities for the office, their backgrounds and unique skill sets, how they will address a backlog of reassessments, plans for recruitment and retention, their approaches to budgeting, building relationships with the Board of Supervisors and what they expect will constitute the biggest learning curve upon taking office.
The video of the debate can be seen in its entirety above.
