BOGGS MOUNTAIN, Calif. – A woman who was reported to have gotten lost while hiking on Boggs Mountain Sunday evening was found safe several hours later.
Cal Fire Battalion Chief Greg Bertelli said Cal Fire personnel from the Boggs Mountain Helitack base, and the Kelsey-Cobb and Middletown stations responded to the call at around 7:30 p.m. Sunday of a 72-year-old woman and her dog who had gone missing.
Bertelli said the Lake County Sheriff's Office later took the lead role on the incident, deploying Search and Rescue personnel in the search effort.
He said the woman was found safely at around 11:30 p.m., with sheriff's personnel walking her down the hill.
Both the woman and her dog were OK, Bertelli said.
