NORTHERN CALIFORNIA – New Assemblyman Bill Dodd (D-Napa), whose district includes Lake County, has been appointed by Assembly Speaker Toni G. Atkins to serve on five key committees for the 2015-16 Regular Session.
Dodd will serve on the Agriculture Committee, Business and Professions Committee, Rules Committee, Transportation Committee, and the Water, Parks and Wildlife Committee.
Speaker Atkins also appointed Dodd to serve on the Joint Committee on Fairs, Allocation and Classification.
“I am honored by these appointments from Speaker Atkins,” Assemblymember Dodd said, “The issues covered by these committees are truly crucial for our district and the state of California.”
“I am excited to serve our communities and advance our districts priorities through these committees,” he added. “Jobs, water and transportation infrastructure, and environmental stewardship are of critical importance, and these committee appointments provide an excellent opportunity to address these issues.”
The speaker of the Assembly appoints Assembly members to committees at the start of every two-year session.
Dodd, who formerly served on the Napa County Board of Supervisors, was elected to the Assembly in November and was sworn into office on Dec. 1, the first day of the 2015-16 Legislative Session, as Lake County News has reported.
His Fourth Assembly District includes all or portions of Colusa, Lake, Napa, Solano, Sonoma and Yolo counties.
