Stop the War Machine
Lake County Youth Action is sponsoring a May Day rally at Lucerne Harbor Park to protest the Iraq war and work for peace: the event will feature an open mike to discuss the causes and effects of war, with music, signs, etc. It is part of a nationwide general strike, so the organizers are encouraging supporters to call in sick for work, skip school, and refuse to buy products from big corporations (especially big oil), so as to not only make a statement against war, but to protest the system that perpetuates it, but the timing is such that students who do not wish to miss school can still attend after the school day is over, and perhaps even ride the school bus to the rally.
