LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Sacred Lake Kirtan Band will host a session of kirtan chanting on Thursday, Dec. 8.
The group will meet at 7 p.m. at Lake Yoga, 572 Lakeport Blvd. in Lakeport.
Kirtan is the ancient practice of recitation and repetition of Mantras or hymns in a “call and response” between performers and participants.
Traditionally practiced by the respective name in the spiritual and folk traditions of India, kirtan is an innate human expression of the heart that shows itself in many forms in every culture.
The Sacred Lake Kirtan Band acknowledges the devotional offerings of the human heart and shares chants from a variety of traditions.
This is an offering open to all faiths and beliefs. It is a chance to release stress and find a deep connection within yourself and all life.
