KELSEYVILLE, Calif. – The Kelseyville Food Pantry will open its doors to those in need starting Tuesday, March 13, at the Kelseyville United Methodist Church at First and Main Streets in Kelseyville.
The pantry will be open from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month.
Volunteers from the Kelseyville United Methodist Church, the Kelseyville Presbyterian Church and the Unitarian Universalist Community of Lake County have worked to organize and stock the pantry in preparation for the semi-monthly event.
The pantry has an ongoing need for donations of food, grocery bags and cash to sustain its mission and operations.
The following foods are needed: canned fruits, vegetables, meat products (like tuna, ham, chicken) and meals (such as meat stews, chili, ravioli), pasta, rice, soups, macaroni and cheese (boxed), peanut butter, and bags of dried beans are needed.
In addition, the pantry hopes to provide packages of dry milk, dry cereals, oatmeal and baby food as well.
Cash donations will be used to provide some fresh fruits and vegetables to its clients.
Donors are reminded that the pantry is not able to accept food stored in glass containers and cannot accept home-made canned goods or bulk quantities of dry goods.
The pantry needs ongoing contributions from the community and is accepting donations of nutritious canned and boxed foods at the following locations in Kelseyville:
Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Kelseyville Presbyterian Church, 5340 Third St., 707-279-1104;
