Join us at the Grange for GE Free Lake County's "Last Sunday Cinema".

Renowned chef John Bishop explores the production of a modern meal in this award-winning film directed by Marianne Kaplan.

Along the way, Bishop interviews everyone from the scientists who create GMOs to canola farmer Percy Schmeiser, who was sued by the Monsanto Corporation after his crops were contaminated. Bishop observes the actual transfer of DNA from bacteria into canola plants. Being a chef, he cooks up an all-GMO dinner which he shares with a bio-tech researcher. He is also wined and dined by organic farmer Michael Ableman and his family, then as he travels to India, he experiences more exotic fare at the table of none other than Vandana Shiva. In India he meets and feasts with Indian farmers who are fighting alongside activists to keep traditional farming practices alive.

Sunday, April 29, 2012, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. Light refreshments will be served.

Location: BigValley Grange, located at 1510 Big Valley Rd in Finley
