Provide your child a foundation for learning Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM) fundamentals using LEGO WeDo Robots. This workshop will introduce 6- to 11-year-old students to 21st century skill sets in a fun and team-oriented way. Participants will have the opportunity to assemble robots using familiar Lego components, paired in teams of 2 humans, 1 robot and 1 laptop. After building their robot, students will program it to perform specific tasks. During the 3 hour session, each team will build several robots to accomplish different goals. The workshop will be conducted by CMAS member Kinene Barzin and supported by Michael Schenck, director of technology for the Konocti Unified School District. Registration is $15 per student and includes an afternoon snack and beverages. Register for this event at http://www.lakecoe.org/calendar/details/lego_robotics_for_elementary_and_middle_school_students/2012-06-30.
