The second annual Senior Safe Mobility Week will be observed Oct. 14-20, featuring programs highlighting two major issues of concern for older Californians – retaining the ability to drive safely as age advances, and planning for the time when driving must stop, according to Lt. Dane Hayward, commander of the California Highway Patrol’s Clear Lake Area.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger proclaimed Senior Safe Mobility Week, emphasizing that it is essential “we ensure seniors are able to drive safely. It is important for each older person, as well as their families and friends, to evaluate their ability to drive.”
Officer Adam Garcia and Clear Lake Area CHP Senior Volunteer President Ed McDonald will give presentations at the Highlands Senior Center on Oct. 16 at 12:30 p.m.
