LAKEPORT – The North Lake Garden Club will host a free presentation on the topic of “Soils in Lake County” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23.
The presenter will be Larry Brewer, District Conservationist from the USDA Natural Resources
Conservation Service office in Lakeport. Co-presenting will be Penelope Shibley, Senior Planner with the Lake County Community Development Department.
They will be providing copies of the Lake County Soil Survey, prepared by the US Department of Agriculture, along with a PowerPoint presentation on use of the survey and soil map units. There will also be handouts along with some hands-on soil samples.
The garden club meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 23, at Lakeshore Baptist Church in Lucerne, 5870 East State Highway 20. The public is invited to attend, and new Club members are always welcome.
