Septic tank meeting Print

A public meeting in December will look at issues surrounding soils the proper use of septic tanks.


The meeting will take place from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, at the Calpine Geothermal Center, 15500 Central Park Road in Middletown.


Doug Davenport of the California Rural Water Association will speak about the proper operation of septic systems.


Davenport will explain what the future holds in regards to proposed state wide legislation and how it may affect those of us who have septic systems.


Local District Conservationist Korinn Smith from the Natural Resources Conservation Service will bring information to this gathering that will enable you to know which soil types you have on your property.


In addition, Smith will supply information on how best to conserve the soil that you presently have. Soil restoration ideas will be offered. Best management practices for soils will be discussed.
