LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Lake County farmers and ranchers may be eligible for emergency farm loans up to a maximum of $500,000.
Due to ongoing drought conditions in Northern California, the U.S. Department of Agriculture recently granted a Secretarial disaster designation for numerous counties including Lake County.
Lake County farmers and ranchers, who conduct family-sized farming operations, should contact the local Farm Service Agency in Ukiah at 707-468-9223 for more information or visit the Disaster and Drought Assistance page at www.fsa.usda.gov .
The Small Business Administration also has announced that nonfarm businesses that work directly with growers may be eligible for the SBA Economic Injury Disaster Loans.
