NORTH COAST, Calif. – Authorities on Sunday afternoon were engaged in a search for a missing man west of Lake Sonoma.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said deputies were dispatched to a call of a missing person in the 15000 block of Rockpile Road, west of Lake Sonoma, at 12:10 p.m. Sunday.
There had been a wedding on the previous night at the residence and at about 3 a.m. some of the attendees went for a walk along one of the many trails in the remote area, officials said.
One member of the party – a 28-year-old male still wearing dress shoes, slacks and a tee shirt – said he was not feeling well and stopped to rest. The remaining people returned to the house, according to the sheriff's office.
At 9 a.m. Sunday several subjects from the residence went back to look for him and could not locate him, officials said. Witnesses stated the missing person consumed several alcoholic beverages while at the celebration.
The Sonoma County Sheriff's Office said a missing persons report was taken and a full-scale search was under way Sunday.
The Sonoma Sheriff's Helicopter Unit, Search and Rescue, Sheriff's Off Road Motorcycle Unit and the Boating Unit are involved in the search, the agency said.
