Lakeport Summer Concert Series
LAKEPORT – Jake Gill will headline at the Lakeport Summer Concert Series in Library Park on Friday from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Bring a chair or blanket to sit on the lawn. Picnics also are welcome.
SATURDAY, JULY 1
Clearlake Independence Day weekend festivities
CLEARLAKE – The Lakeshore Lions Club is sponsoring its 60th annual Redbud Parade and Festival on Saturday, a daylong celebration of the Independence Day holiday that includes the famed International Worm Races and a fireworks display over Clear Lake.
The day's festivities begin at 11 a.m. with the Redbud Parade, which goes from Lakeshore Drive north to Austin Park. This year's theme is “Grand Old Flag.”
Organizers said this year’s parade will feature local marchers, decorated floats, vintage cars, parade and show horses, fire and police vehicles, and much more.
After the parade, the festival gets under way at Austin Park, where the 18th annual Show & Shine car show will be held. There also will be arts and crafts vendors, games and entertainment, and an assortment of food and cold drinks.
The Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce will sponsor the 49th annual International Worm Races.
The Midway of Fun Carnival will take place at the park all day.
The fireworks display will take place on Saturday night at dusk.
The event is the largest fundraiser for the Lakeshore Lions, which supports causes including eyeglasses and vision care for those in need, high school sports, scholarships and many school activities, fire and police departments, the senior center, Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts, among others.

Lakeport Speedway hosts Deake Lyndall Memorial, fireworks display
LAKEPORT – Engines will be revving Saturday in Lakeport for the Kelseyville Lumber Deake Lyndall Memorial Race at the Lakeport Speedway, located at the Lake County Fairgrounds, 401 Martin St.
Gates will open at the track at 3:30 p.m. and racing will begin at 5 p.m. with the exciting ground show fireworks happening during the program.
Tickets to the race are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors and students, $8 for children 6 to 11, and children age 5 and under are admitted free.
SUNDAY, JULY 2
Clearlake Keys Boat Parade
CLEARLAKE OAKS – The annual Clearlake Oaks Keys Boat Parade will take place on Sunday morning.
Lineup takes place at 9:30 a.m., with the parade starting at 10 a.m. at M&M Campground, 13050 Island Drive.
This year's theme is “Under the Big Top!”
Heidi Aragon, one of the parade’s organizers, said the canals are full of water and looking good for this weekend’s event.
All manner of boats are invited, with Aragon noting boats with motors are best so as to keep the flow of the parade going. After they pass by the judges’ stand, “It kinda turns into a free-for-all-water fight,” she said.
Last year’s parade featured patio boats, deck boats, pontoons and even an amphibious car, said Aragon. Jet skis also are welcome as long as they’re not disruptive.
She said no water balloons, ice or other hard objects are allowed, but squirt guns are OK.
Prizes will once again be offered: $100 for first place, $75 for second place and $50 for third place.

Hidden Valley Lake Independence Day celebration
HIDDEN VALLEY LAKE – The Hidden Valley Lake Association will hold its daylong Independence Day celebration on Sunday.
Activities will take place from 10 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bring your picnic or use the barbecue grills at either the Big Beach or the Little Beach.
From 10 a.m. to noon there will be games and activities for children at the Little Beach.
From 1 to 9:30 p.m., there will be live music at the Big Beach, including the Electric Stout Brothers Band from 1 to 4 p.m. and Tony Neves Live! From 6 to 9:30 p.m.
At 3 p.m. there will be the fleet parade for all watercraft at the center of the lake. Decorated boats can win category prizes.
The fireworks will take place at dusk, weather permitting.

Ely Stage Stop Fiddlers Jam
KELSEYVILLE – Bring the whole family to the Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum on Sunday for the monthly Fiddlers’ Jam. Wear your red-white and blue and enjoy the patriotic fiddling.’
Musicians will meet in the Ely barn to perform their wonderful Americana music from noon until 2 p.m.
The event is free, but donations made during the event benefit both the Ely Stage Stop, helping to fund the blacksmith shop, and the Old Time Fiddlers Association, helping to fund their scholarship programs.
Enjoy the music with beverages and tasty treats provided by the Ely volunteers. Enjoy a picnic in the oak grove. Bring your own wine and sip it in Ely Stage Stop wine glasses that are available for purchase.
The Lake County Historical Society’s Ely Stage Stop & Country Museum is located at 9921 State Hwy 281 (Soda Bay Road) in Kelseyville, near Clear Lake Riviera, just north of Highway 29-Kit's Corner.

Konocti Vista fireworks show
LAKEPORT – Konocti Vista Casino, 2755 Mission Rancheria Road, will host a huge fireworks show on Sunday.
The show will begin at dusk and can be viewed from Konocti Vista Casino's marina and from boats on Clear Lake.
The free event is cosponsored by Twin Pine Casino, Robinson Rancheria Casino and Running Creek Casino.
Bring the entire family – children are welcome – and join the fun at the outdoor barbecue and bar.

Maxine Sherman fireworks display
CLEARLAKE OAKS – The annual Maxine Sherman fireworks display in Clearlake Oaks will take place on Monday night.
The fireworks will be launched at dusk – beginning at around 9:30 p.m. – from the Clearlake Oaks Beach Park.
Best areas for viewing include from a boat anchored near Rattlesnake Island or Clark's Island.
The event is sponsored by the Clearlake Oaks-Glenhaven Business Association and named for the woman who helped launch the annual celebration.
The organization asks the community to support the display by making donations, either online through PayPal or credit card by visiting its Web site. Checks also can be mailed to the association at P.O. Box 1211, Clearlake Oaks, CA 95423.
TUESDAY, JULY 4
Lakeport July 4 celebration
LAKEPORT – The city of Lakeport will host its daylong celebration on Tuesday.
Festivities begin at 10 a.m. with a street faire between Second and Third streets in Library Park with vendors, music and activities, plus the Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta from 10 a.m. to noon.
A large fireworks display will take place at dusk, or around 9:30 p.m.
The city of Lakeport is allowing the sale and use of Safe and Sane Fireworks within the incorporated area of Lakeport. Use of fireworks outside of city limits is strictly prohibited.
11th annual Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta
LAKEPORT – The Lakeport Yacht Club will present the the 11th annual Lakeport Cardboard and Duct Tape Regatta from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday.
The races will take place at Library Park, between First and Third streets.
Racers design and build boats of any size and shape but they must be made out of cardboard and held together with duct tape. Paddles may be of any material. Life jackets are required by all.
There are three classes: 6 to 12 years old, 13 to 19 years old, and age 20 and older. Trophies and medallions will be awarded.
Preregister on the day of the race at 10 a.m. at Library Park.
