LUCERNE – Community members are invited to take part in Harbor Village Artists' art classes and demonstrations this Saturday, April 10.

Demonstrations in spiral beading techniques, silk painting, woodburning on a gourd and beaded peyote stitch will take place from noon to 2 p.m.

At The Gourd Gallery, Sandie Coelho-Davis will show woodburning techniques.

Knowing the proper way to use woodburning tools is the first step in mastering the art of pyrography.

Coelho-Davis will offer tips that will help aspiring gourd artists create a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

Luwana Quitiquit of the Pomo Fine Arts Gallery will give a presentation on making beaded peyote stitch earrings.

The ancient peyote stitch is one of the most popular off-loom stitches among contemporary beaders. She'll show the technique, which is said to be amazingly easy and versatile.

Lynn Hughes will teach a class on spiral beading at the Lakeside Art Gallery.

Spiral beading is a standard beading technique which can have many different outcomes by changing the count or size of the beads. Learn how to apply this fascinating technique to your next project.

At Serendipity Art and Boutique, Diana Liebe will lead a silk painting demonstration, using water-based full color dyes on silk fabric to create dynamic, vibrant and beautiful pieces of art. Liebe's class will take place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
