Caltrans plans major roadwork through Jan. 26

NORTH COAST – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around Lake County during the coming week.


Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.


LAKE COUNTY


Highway 175


– PG&E of Eureka has been issued a Caltrans Encroachment permit for utility work from the junction of Routes 29/175 near Kelseyville to 1.5 miles west of Socrates Mine Road beginning Friday, Jan. 20. Work hours are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


MENDOCINO COUNTY


Highway 20


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from just east of the East Fork Russian River Bridge to Potter Valley Road on Friday, Jan. 20. Work hours are 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


Highway 101


– A pavement repair project from Perkins Street to West Road will continue. Work hours are 5 a.m. to 3 p.m., weekdays. Traffic will be restricted to one lane in each direction of travel. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns. Contractor – Granite Construction Inc. of Ukiah.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Moore Avenue to the junction of Routes 20/101 on Friday, Jan. 20. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane. Motorists may experience minor traffic slowdowns.


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from the north Willits railroad crossing to 0.6 mile north of Shimmins Ridge Road on Monday, Jan. 23, and Thursday, Jan. 26. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


Highway 128


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from 0.5 mile east of the Shearing Creek Bridge to 0.9 mile west of the Mendocino/Sonoma County line on Tuesday, Jan. 24, and Wednesday, Jan. 25. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.


Highway 175


– Caltrans will perform routine maintenance from Buckman Drive to the Lake/Mendocino County line beginning Monday, Jan. 23. Work hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., weekdays. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.


Work on all these projects is weather permitting and subject to change. Caltrans advises motorists to drive with caution when approaching work areas and to be prepared to stop at traffic control stations.


The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
