LOWER LAKE, Calif. – Soroptimist International of Clear Lake will hold a pizza fundraiser in support of its programs on Wednesday, Aug. 23.

The dinner event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at DJ’s Pizza, located at 16135 Main St. in Lower Lake.

Soroptimist International is a volunteer organization whose primary focus is to improve the lives of women and girls.

The August pizza dinner is one of several fundraisers it holds throughout the year in support of the community.

The group recently helped sponsor an event with speaker Elle Snow, a renowned leader in the fight against human trafficking, particularly for young women.

Soroptimist also supports The Nest, a local maternity group home that improves the lives of at-risk parents, ages 18 to 21, and their children.

In addition to the primary focus of women and girls, Soroptimists also conduct projects that benefit the entire community, most recently the gift card project where they gave out more than $25,000 in gift cards to Valley and Clayton fire survivors.
