LAKEPORT, Calif. – The Lake County Library’s Summer Reading Program “Reading by Design” has ended and the library is delighted to recognize the 461 people who signed up for the program.

The program now has levels for people of all ages, from infants to adults.

Of those who participated in “Reading by Design,” 31 adults, 96 children, 66 pre-readers and 16 teens finished the program by earning 1,000 or more points.

Prizes for adults included book bags with the “Reading by Design” logo and gift baskets full of new books.

Children and pre-readers received book bags, pizza coupons and certificates. Teen prizes included a Kindle Fire with a carry bag, and a “Reading by Design” book bag.

For each participant, the Friends of the Lake County Library donated to the library’s collection a book containing a bookplate that commemorates the achievement of that participant.

The books were selected based on the participants’ reading interests.

Readers at all levels and in all programs earned a total of 1,582 badges as they read.
