Sheriff's office warns of possible disaster assistance fraud

LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – The Lake County Sheriff's Office has received reports of a possible fraudulent scam involving disaster assistance.

If you received a letter from the U.S. Small Business Administration for possible disaster loan assistance and you did not apply with FEMA or SBA for disaster assistance and feel this communication is in error, please report this matter directly to both the SBA Customer Service Center at 800-659-2955 and the National Center for Disaster Fraud at 866-720-5721.
