LAKEPORT, Calif. – On Saturday night more than 100 people were transported back in time to the “Roaring 20’s” when Country Air Properties held Casino Royale, a fundraiser for Beautify Lake County.
The Country Air Lakeport office was transformed into a 1920s-style casino, with poker, blackjack, and roulette tables.
“We had a good buzz going all night, and the tables were busy,” said Country Air spokesman, Rob Ishihara.
Robinson Rancheria was the major sponsor, and provided several hotel packages as grand prizes, in addition to loaning props and logistical support.
“Robinson Rancheria went all in to support this effort, and they are a major reason the event was such a success,” Ishihara said. “Their support of our community is very appreciated.”
Best dressed individual was Becca Samsel of Leggett, and best dressed couple were Ken and Lisa Holmes of Nice.
“We were pleasantly surprised by the number of people that dressed up to the 20s theme,” said Ishihara. “Tiffany Peng’s photo booth was busy all night.”
Wildhurst Vineyards & Winery provided the wine, and owner Tanya Hat and her team did the pouring honors dressed in their 20s finest. John Tomlinson and New Vintage Productions provided the gaming tables, props and dealer support.
Beautify Lake County is an effort that allows the community to nominate an elderly or disabled homeowner whose house needs maintenance but cannot afford to do it themselves.
The beautification efforts are done with support of volunteer teams, local supporters, and the proceeds from Casino Royale.
Nomination will be accepted through May 31, with the work being done later this summer.
Donations will be accepted up to the date of the makeover.
Homes can be nominated by going to www.CountryAir.com or by calling Phil Smoley at 707-264-4905.
