LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – Congressional candidate and former Lake County teacher Nils Palsson is hosting a series of campaign events this Friday, May 4.
Palsson, who is running as an independent for the seat in CA’s 5th Congressional District in the US House of Representatives, will host a casual “Coffee with the Candidate" at Angelina’s Bakery and Espresso in Lakeport at 2 p.m., followed by campaign office hours and volunteer meeting at the Middletown Art Center at 5 p.m.
The candidate will also be on hand for the Middletown Art Center’s monthly open mic, which starts at 6:30 p.m.
Palsson, 32, is on the ballot in the June 5 primary Election, where he is challenging 10-term Democratic incumbent congressman Mike Thompson.
Endorsements for Palsson’s 2016 campaign included the national group Elect Bernie Thinkers, Our Revolution West Marin, and California for Bernie Sanders 2020. He is also supported by a growing list of community members and working people from around the district.
Running in a four-way primary on June 5th, in which the top two candidates advance to the November election regardless of party, Palsson hopes to be the one to challenge the long-time incumbent.
