LAKEPORT, Calif. – Lake County Republican Women, Federated will holds its next luncheon meeting on Wednesday, June 13.

The meeting will take place at Grey Heron Farm, Lakeport. Start arriving at 11 as gavel is at 11:30 a.m. For reservations and information call Janeane at 707-998-3280.

“A Man of Our Times” would be a good title for Lake County Republican Women, Federated’s speaker at the June 13 luncheon meeting to be held at Grey Heron Farm, Lakeport.

Speaking on “The total disconnect between the government and the unintended consequences they create,” will be Kenny Parlet.

Kenny Parlet attended high school in the Bay Area through his sophomore year. Arriving in Lake County in 1970, he finished his high school education at Clear Lake High school. He finished his formal education at UCLA. He and his family owned three markets around the county; one in Lakeport, Clearlake and Lucerne through the late 1970s and eventually downsized to one store in Lucerne.

Parlet was President of his local Chamber of Commerce twice, his Rotary club, was executive board member of the local Economic Development organization, an instructor at Mendocino college, and sat on the local Hospital Foundation board. He was also the president of the Northshore Business Association three times.

He was mayor of the city of Lakeport and remains an active member of the Lakeport City Council. He currently serves on the Lake County/City Area Planning Council and the Lake Transit Authority Board. He also serves on the Lake Area Formation Commission as well as the Abandoned Vehicle Abatement Committee. He is the commissioner of the Coastal Mountain Official’s Association and has been a sports official for 28 years.

Parlet’s business, Lakeview Supermarket and Deli, was recently recognized as Progressive Grocer’s “Outstanding Independent Meat Retailer in the Nation for 2018.” Lakeview Supermarket is also home to the county’s oldest catering company, “Lindy’s Quality Catering” that has been around for 35 years. Parlet is the head cook. He and his crew have cooked tens of thousands of meals in every corner or Lake County and are booked nearly every Saturday from March through October.

What is important to you, however, is that he has been a student of personal development, leadership, communications, presentations and human resources for more than 35 years. He has more than 37 years of intensive sales and marketing training.

Parlet is a professional leadership trainer, a seasoned presenter and accomplished speaker. Most importantly, he has 48 years’ experience battling and clashing with the titans of retail and still thrives in his retail business.
