LAKE COUNTY, Calif. – A disaster recovery center, or DRC, opened Tuesday in Upper Lake to help California wildfire survivors in Lake County.
The hours are 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Disaster recovery centers offer in-person support to individuals and business owners.
Recovery specialists from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the U.S. Small Business Administration, or SBA, and the state of California are available to provide assistance to anyone filling out their applications or updating their status.
Voluntary organizations are available and offer a variety of services to help survivors recover.
The DRC is located at the Habematolel Pomo of Upper Lake Tribal Community Center, 9460 Main St. Upper Lake.
It is open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
Survivors are encouraged to assess their needs, stay in touch with their insurance company and call the FEMA Helpline at 800-621-3362, (TTY) 800-462-7585.
Helpline numbers are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. CT, seven days a week. DRC information is also available on the FEMA App.
You may have other needs while visiting a DRC:
• If you have a disability and require a reasonable accommodation, please see a DRC manager when you arrive.
• Language translations are offered through Telephonic Interpretation Services in 200 languages.
It is not necessary to visit a DRC to register. You may still want to go speak with a recovery specialist to update your status, submit documentation, or find help from other organizations.
The SBA offers federal disaster loans for businesses of all sizes, private non-profit organizations, homeowners and renters. The SBA is the federal government’s primary source of money for the long-term rebuilding of disaster-damaged property.
