Caltrans plans major roadwork through Aug. 30

NORTH COAST, Calif. – Caltrans reports that the following road projects will be taking place around the North Coast during the coming week.

Included are Mendocino County projects that may impact Lake County commuters.

LAKE COUNTY

Highway 20

– Shoulder work near Foothill Drive will begin on Friday, August 24. Lane closures will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– Pavement work from Long Valley Road to North Fork of Cache Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 29

– Striping work at Cruikshank Road will occur Thursday, Aug. 23. Lane closures will be in effect from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 175

– Fire Damage repair work near Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Lake County Sanitation has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for sewer work from Socrates Mine Road to Dry Creek Road. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

MENDOCINO COUNTY

Highway 1

– Great Day in Elk Parade will take place from Philo Greenwood Road to the North Limits of Elk on Saturday, Aug. 25. One-way traffic control will be in effect 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Drainage work at Little Valley Road and Simpson Road will begin Monday, Aug. 27. One-way traffic control will be in effect 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Soldier Point Viaduct will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Pavement work from Mill Bank Resort to South Fork Eel River Bridge will begin on Monday, Aug. 27. One-way traffic control will be in 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

Highway 20

– Stripping work from Access Road to Road 260 will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. weeknights. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

– Fire Damage repair work at Road 260 to Old Lake County Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 15-minute delays.

– AT&T has been granted a Caltrans Encroachment Permit for utility work from Cold Creek Bridge to Private Road on Friday, Aug. 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 101

– Emergency work from Reeves Canyon Road to Ridgewood Ranch Road will continue. Lane closures will be in effect 24 hours a day. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Construction at Jitney Gulch Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Bell Glenn Resort to the Dora Creek Bridge will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Emergency work at Piercy will continue. Lane closures will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate minor traffic slowdowns.

Highway 162

– Wall work at The Middle Way will continue. One-way traffic control with temporary stop signs will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

Highway 175

– Emergency work east of the entrance to Motorcycle Park will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

– Fire Damage repair work at the Lake County Line to Mathews Road will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Motorists should anticipate five-minute delays.

Highway 253

– Pavement work from the Route 128 junction in Booneville to the Highway 101 junction will continue. One-way traffic control will be in effect. Motorists should anticipate 10-minute delays.

The Caltrans Traffic Operations Office has reviewed each project and determined that individual project delays are expected to be less than the statewide policy maximum of 30 minutes, unless noted otherwise above.
