CLEARLAKE, Calif. – The city of Clearlake is accepting submissions for a city photo contest.
The winners will have their photographs displayed at City Hall, the new visitor’s center or the community center, as well as on the city’s Web site and will receive a certificate of recognition.
The photo contest will run until November and winners will be announced at the Dec. 13th Clearlake City Council meeting.
Suggestions for submissions include the following categories:
– City parks;
– City events (such as parades, festivals, etc.);
– City buildings;
– Historical photos;
– Free form (photos that do not fit in another category).
“The one rule,” according to City Clerk Melissa Swanson, “is that the photo must be
recognizably Clearlake.”
According to City Manager Greg Folsom, “We received some phenomenal photos last year and we want to incorporate even more art in our public buildings, as well as show off how beautiful this city is. This contest is an opportunity for photographers to show off their work and for us to show off our city.”
For more information on submitting your photograph, see the city of Clearlake Web site at
