LAKEPORT, Calif. – The U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, Flotilla 88 of Lake County participated in the Heroes of Health and Safety fair held on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Lake County Fairgrounds in Lakeport.

The group provided boating safety information to fair goers including water safety activity books for the children.

The Flotilla 88 booth was next to the Northshore Fire Protection District Firefighters and Dive Team unit, who were giving away free life jackets to children.

Flotilla members assisted the dive team in fitting the youngsters with the proper size life jackets.

The spirit of the fair was reflected in the joint efforts of the Northshore Dive Team and Flotilla 88 in working together in helping keep children safe when out on the water.
